Featured – The Weber Natural Gas Grill
The Weber Natural Gas Grill is the most innovative and updated variation of a backyard grill. At present, Weber Natural Gas Grills come in three versions:
- the Weber Summit grills
- the Weber Genesis grills
- the Weber Spirit grills
The company has always manufactured popular products for barbecuing fans. Below is a historic overview of the Weber Natural Gas Grills producer.
Weber launched its first line Genesis grill in 1985. Due to the excellent quality of this grill, the Weber Genesis Grill continues to be around today. This model provides six hundred thirty seven square inches of total cooking area, provides stainless flavorizer bars and is available in 2 different models.
The Weber Spirit grill happens to be the tiniest of the Weber Natural Gas Grills. It provides an absolute cooking area of five hundred thirty six square inches and features porcelain covered cooking grates as opposed to stainless steel cooking grates like the other Weber Natural Gas Grill Designs.
Presently, the Weber Summit grill is considered second to none. The Summit Grill characteristics include added cooking shelves, simple ignition, quick to wash surfaces, numerous temperature regulators, and many add on attributes. It also comprises a 12 thousand BTU flush installed side burner. Among the best features of the Weber Summit Natural Gas Grill is the “Tuck Away” rotisserie spit which is wonderful for cooking chicken. The Summit offers a total cooking area of seven hundred sixty nine square inches and is wonderful to have if you would like to prepare food for a significant group of people.
Weber Natural Gas Grill Models Features
In the table below, you can find a summary of the different Weber Natural Gas Grill Models Features
| Model | Nb. Of Burners | Hourly BTU | Grates | Cooking Space |
| Spirit | 2 | 26,000 | Porcelain | 458 square inches |
| Spirit | 3 | 36,000 | Porcelain | 536 square inches |
| Genesis | 3 | 42,000 | Stainless Steel | 637 square inches |
| Summit | 4 | 48,800 | Stainless Steel | 650 square inches |
| Summit | 6 | 60,000 | Stainless Steel | 769 square inches |
With a Weber natural gas grill you will not have to be concerned about running out of charcoal or propane. Additionally, propane recipients could be heavy even though the use of propane is an option in these gas grills. The use of charcoal can be messy at times. These types of grills also make things a little easier by supplying matchless starting, extra side burners and a continuous flow of fuel anytime you need it and for as long as you need it also.

Weber Summit S-470 Video Review
Some Recent Reviews of the Weber Summit S-470 Natural Gas Grill:
5.0 out of 5 stars First time weber owner
I had been looking for a new grill. I have always used 100-150 dollar propane models and had the opportunity to shop in a higher price range. After months of research online and with locals who had several different models (weber, napolean) and looking at warranty and features I settled on the 2-470 in natural gas. First, natural gas is fantastic. This is my first time using it but gets hot extremely fast and you never run out. I have now done a roast on the spit and it turned out fantastic. My buddy that owns a more expensive napolean grill is envious of the stow away motor that is right there and ready to be used. His is in a box on a shelf and an after thought always. Steaks are great on the sear station. It did take some getting use to. It is so much hotter than my old grill could ever get. Nice sear marks on the steak, but they cook relatively fast compared to my old grill. Nice char on the outside and still pink and moist in the center. I also purchase the weber grill basket and consider this a must as well. Vegetables of all sorts are fantastic in this and my three old daughter loves the grilled shrimp we do in the basket. This grill is pricey but it is definitely as advertised. Nice features, easy setup (really took around 20 minutes at most) and cooks fantastic. Couldnt be happier.
5.0 out of 5 stars Weber Summit NG Grill
A bit difficult to get started. Needed accessories to connect to NG pipe extending from house. Then had hard time getting gas to flow first time. Had to disconnect and then reconnect quick connect several times before I finally got flow. After that everything has worked beautifully. Highly recommend the unit
5.0 out of 5 stars Weber S-470 Warehouse Deals
This grill was an outstanding deal from Warehouse Deals, Inc. The delivery was fast, efficient and on-time. Came crated and was delivered to porch. The value from Warehouse Deals was incredible – less than half price anywhere else. I now scour this website regularly looking for similar deals. On top of that, the Weber grill is the best that I have ever used. It gets very hot for a quick grilling of a steak (to sear in the juice & flavor) but also can cook more slowly. Built in rotisserie and infrared burner did a great job on a whole chicken. Love it!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Weber Summit: The Best They Got
I’ve owned a Weber Summit S-470, plumbed for natural gas, for about 2 months – my first gas grill. Grilling is easier and more delicious than I ever imagined. I did a lot of research before I bought it, so here is what you need to know if you’re new to gas grills, new to Weber, or new to the Summit line:
1) Weber sells most of the gas grills sold in America. Their customer service is legendary. Go hit up their website and look at their warranty info. 25 years, no questions asked replacements on some parts, like the grill hood; 2 years replacement even on high wear items like the burners. There are people grilling away happily on 30 year old Weber gas grills without any problems; so definitely take into account that the warranty and customer service is part of what you’re paying for.
2) The S-470 is mostly stainless steel. There is stainless and stainless; to keep their pricepoint, in 2008 Weber switched from grade 304 stainless to grade 420. People in demanding environments (humidity, etc) find that the 420 doesn’t hold up quite as well to the elements. You can buy a lower-end, yet feature-identical grill for a similar price in the ‘enameled’ (E-XXX) series; but when they rust out, you’ll need to replace the panel. I think my grill looks great and has held up great so far; time will tell.
3) The grill grates are thick 9.5 mm stainless steel rods. They can be scoured with a brass bristle brush with no fear of damage. The thicker the grate, the more heat transfer into your steak- that is how you get a good sear. These are as thick as they come.
4) The S-470 has a LOT of burner for the cooking area. If you fire up all 4 main burners, the sear burner, the IR burner and the smoker burner, you’re putting nearly 70,000 BTU under the hood. The grill will go over 800 degrees on a hot day. That’s the other way you get a good sear.
5) The non-IR Weber sear station is just an extra 10,600 BTU burner, sandwiched in between main burners number 2 and 3. It heats up that small middle part of the grill, way hotter than it otherwise would have gotten. Then, when you put your steak down, you get a good sear. There are infrared (IR) sear stations out there in other brands, but they take up a lot of room on the grill grates – space you can’t use when you’re not searing. (For IR only grills, you should know about TEC – they have a neat patent, no one else’s IR works the way theirs does – but now we’re talking very expensive equipment that only does one thing, sear with IR, and costs even more than the Summit.) The Weber sear station is great for me – you can even sear a whole salmon fillet and it won’t stick or fall apart, which I really didn’t believe until I tried it.
6) The IR roto burner is something I would not have known to ask for, but now I don’t know how I lived without it. It makes the juiciest chicken, with the most delicious skin, that you can ever possibly imagine. In my house it is agreed that the “roto bird” is the best feature of this grill, hands down. A 5 lb bird spins to done in 45-60 minutes.
7) The smoker box is sort of difficult to get good results with and the smoke dirties up the grill. If you want to smoke food low and slow, and you’re thinking this grill is going to be just as good as a dedicated smoker unit, you’ll be disappointed. If, on the other hand, you want your meats to have just a hint of wood smoke flavor, so they taste like they came off a high-temperature charcoal grill, you can make that happen.
Weber makes 3 lower end grill models: the Genesis, the Spirit, and the Ducane Affinity series (branded under the Ducane name, obviously). A sear unit and a non-IR rotisserie unit are planned for the Genesis EP-330 series in 2011, so you are getting close to the S-470 feature set. The only diff between the Spirit and the Ducane (besides price) is that the Ducane is wholly fabbed in China, whereas some assembly of the Spirit is done in the USA.
9) If you’re completely new to gas grilling, you will need to first decide on propane versus natural gas. This review is for the natural gas model. You need a gas ‘stub’ out of your house to use natural gas, and if you don’t know what I mean, you probably also need pro installation to avoid blowing yourself up. Propane is easier to startup but far costlier over time, and you need to always keep an extra propane bottle around and constantly schlep your empties back to Wal-Mart. An NG grill will actually save you a little money if you use A/C, as you won’t be heating the kitchen (and then cooling it again) for your cooks. Won’t be getting steak grease on the inside of your kitchen windows either.
10) Kebabs, squabs, game hens, whole chickens, lamb, suckling pig, pork butt, pork loin, and any kind of beef or sausage – burgers, dogs, brats, Polish, whatever – it’s all good on the grill. Did I mention fresh corn on the cob?! For your vegan friends: skewers of eggplant, mushrooms, peppers, onions, squash, zucc, and whatever else is garden-fresh will soon become smash hits. Seriously. My buddy actually looked happy to be vegetarian when I served him his plate; he’s trying to lose weight, poor soul. A lot of people grill flatbread pizza too; I can’t eat wheat so I haven’t gone there.
11) Lotta books about grilling out there. Bobby Flay, who is grill crazy, has written like a dozen and I have a few; they’re full of good ideas. You won’t go wrong at any of his restaurants either. I ran into the guy eating at B+B in Vegas not long ago and sent him a nice bottle of wine to thank him. He’s great.
12) Gotta clean your grill. Weber makes a 3 or 4 piece utensil kit as do many others. You need a brass brush, long tongs, and a big spatula. I never use the two-tined grill fork. A wide putty knife also helps for scraping crud out of the drip pan; potholders, heat resistant mitts, and an apron are also useful.
In case it wasn’t obvious, this grill is one of the best things ever to happen to me in my eating life. I can’t recommend it highly enough. I have no regrets. Whatever you do after reading this review, make sure you go get yourself a gas grill. If you can’t afford the new one you want, it’s easy to refurb an old Craigslist grill with a little help from Weber customer service – the warranty comes with the grill. So pretty much you gotta get one!
5.0 out of 5 stars Nervous at first, but Amazon does it again…
I am a regular purchaser on Amazon, use Amazon Prime, but my purchases have been limited to relatively low dollar items. When I went looking for a high-end grill locally, I thought I would check Amazon to see if they sold the one I wanted. There it was for several hundreds less. And with no tax and free shipping, it was a great deal cost-wise. So the final hurdle for me was buying something from Amazon that was almost $2000 and risk problems on my end when it arrived. The two immediate issues are delivery and assembly. If I had bought it locally, the merchant would have taken care of it, for a fee.
Turns out, neither were an issue at all. The shipper Amazon used was top-notch. They delivered within a window and showed up when they said they would. They put the grill exactly where I wanted it on my deck–do not underestimate how big a deal this is. And assembly from the box was surprisingly easy. It took me about 20 minutes.
This is the first natural gas grill I have owned, and I see a clear difference from liquid propane. The grill gets hotter and comes up to temperature faster. If you can go natural, do it.
As far as the grill in general, I am very happy so far. Solid construction. The sear station works as advertised. Along with the high heat of natural gas, you can get that nice crust on the outside of a steak while keeping the inside rare if you want it. The heavy duty grates are key and the “flavorize bars” that cover the flame work well to minimize flame-ups. I like where they put the rotisserie heating element, higher up away from the grates. In other brands, like a WOLF I recently used, the element is immediately behind the grates and can be damaged if you are not careful when cleaning the grate with those standard wire brush/scraper tools.
Will update if anything comes up.

Weber Summit S-420 Video Review
Some Recent Reviews of the Weber Summit S-420 Natural Gas Grill:
5.0 out of 5 stars I love it, By Charlie
I replaced a grill that had cast iron everything. It would take 20 minutes or longer to get the grill to 400 degrees. This new Weber takes only about 5 minutes to hit 500 degrees. I love the 4 burner front to back design. It is a design that gets me back to the days of indirect heat cooking I got from my Weber charcoal grill. I have cooked steak, burgers, chicken and a Wisconsin favorite brats. This is the first time I have a side burner on a grill. I’ve used it to heat a few things and appreciate it.
I live in an area that has a constant breeze that was always a problem for other grills. The wind would get into the grill between the base and the cover and mess with the flame and cool the food. This grill has an inner cover that connects to the base and blocks the wind. This makes for very even temperature.
I was told this grill is manufactured in China and I was a little nervious about the quality of it. As far as I can tell, it is very well made and all the stainless is very thick. I looked at a couple other stainless steel grills and there is a noticable difference. Even the lower line of Webers have thinner metal.
The grill comes preassembled except for the two side tables. Two screws each and the grill was pretty much done. The grates and flavor bars had to be put into place. I was preheating in no time.
3.0 out of 5 stars Love the grill – hate the rain, By Owen Lloyd (Washington)
I’ve been using the grill for the last couple weeks and I must say I absolutely love how it cooks. It does a fantastic job. There are many pluses about this grill and I read many positive reviews before getting it, but I’m focus my attention on what I feel is a fairly hefty design flaw with this model. When it rains, the water channels down the back of the top cover (the part that doesn’t move) and wraps around under neither and drips into the stainless steal grease tray, which then funnells the water into the alumimun grease tin. The water also appears to be all over the bottom shelf area after a good rain. I’m not sure if this is because it’s overflowing out of the aluminum tin, or whether it’s coming in somewhere else. The result is, if the BBQ is out in the rain, you’ll have a very wet interior. The next problem that occurs because of the moisture is the electric starters don’t always function as expected. I’ve had to start my BBQ with a lighter a couple times now. However, once it heats up (which it doesn’t very quickly) the starters dry out and then function normally again (this is what the online help for the BBQ states to would happen). I’m also starting to see rust forming on the interior rivets. My guess is they weren’t designed to have that much water around them, but it’s concerning as I was hoping this grill would have no problems lasting many years.
I have called Weber support and told them about this issue – they said I need to keep a cover on it and are sending me out one. I have to say the people on the support line were very friendly. I just wish they had a solution to the real problem, other than covering your grill. If I’d just bought this thing to look pretty, I wouldn’t care, but I use it everyday for at least one meal and I live in the Pacific Northwest were BBQing in rain is a common practice. Waiting for the grill to cool down before putting the cover on is a pain and not something I always remember each night.
I’ve also looked at the Genesis series at Home Depot and noticed they have a lip on the back to help prevent the water from coming in. According to the guy at Home Depot this does help a fair bit and definitely more than the design on the Summit.
5.0 out of 5 stars One Terrific Grill, By Larry A. Hollar “Author” (La Junta, CO United States)
The grill was pretty easy to set up. Since my back yard is open and exposed, I will chain this beauty down…but there is no easy way to do that, I’ll have to drill through the stainless steel.
Reading reviews of other models, I knew that it was going to run hot. But caution! The book of recipes that comes with the grill will make you burn everything up. It does warn that they are extra hot before they get broken in (dirty) but that doesn’t say it all. I very nearly ruined 3 meals before I started watching the meat instead of following their instructions to leave the lid down as much as possible.
Always adding olive oil to your meat will make things better. Having a grill that will heat to 500 degrees or more is great, it is easier to clean than my old one. You can bake a pizza in there.
I did not follow the advice from a review on a similar model, I’ve gone ahead and purchased the Webber cover. While the stainless steel is easy to maintain, the rain and snow leaves too much dirt on it, so I’ll cover it in winter.
5.0 out of 5 stars A workhorse with a warranty
I agree that this baby heats fast and holds its own in the wind. After 10 months one igniter stopped working some of the time, and Weber has a new part on its way to me, no problem. Not just a new igniter, but the whole manifold with four igniters, in order to save me having to do the plumbing.
It is easy to take apart to do the suggested maintenance. The first couple times that you heat this up to 5-600 degrees, be very careful with cooking time. It will be less than most recipes call for, they are used to grills that don’t reach these temperatures, or don’t hold them.
Weber’s Big Book of Grilling is a bit too much reading and the recipes aren’t to my taste. But this Summit grill is a real joy with which to work.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!
This is my fourth Weber but my first Summit model. The previous Genesis models that I owned came with quite a bit of assembly required so I was surprised to see the Summit come off the truck pretty much all assembled. All I had to do as to follow the simple instructions for adding the left and right work surfaces/burner and a couple of other things and I was in business.
It works like all Webers … just plain excellent! I still miss the left and right side fold up work surfaces that disappeared in the redesign that happened a couple of years back. If I have one complaint it would be that if you opt for the side burner you really have only one work surface and that is on the left side. Being right handed it would have been better for me to have the work surface on the right side and the burner on the left, but I can live with it.
Mine is the natural gas model and I have found little difference in cooking times from the propane models I enjoyed earlier.
Webers are not cheap, and you can buy a whole lot more grill (read hardware) for the money, but if you spend some time inspecting the other models and doing some comparisons you can quickly see why the Weber is a better product.
3.0 out of 5 stars Please consider the S-470 instead – Much more versatile!
The Summit grills are excellent, but very expensive. Relative to the top-rated (Consumer Reports) E-series at less than half the cost, the S-420 is not a particularly good value (hence the 3 stars).
However, if you are considering spending ~$1.5k on a grille, look closely at the Weber S-470.
For an additional ~20% in cost, the three additional burners add a *HUGE* amount of versatility:
1) Built-in smoke-box (with separate burner control) is extremely convenient, and works well.
With our old Weber, smoking was difficult to control and I never got good results. Now I smoke anything other than thin cuts. Ribs are amazing…
The smoke box does slightly reduce the available grill area, but the S-470 can still handle a large load. The dedicated smoker burner also acts as an excellent additional indirect heating source, even if you are not smoking.
2) Extra “searing” burner generates crazy amounts of heat in the middle section, enough to match any charcoal fire. This works extremely well for steaks.
3) Added infra-red burner makes browning on the rotisserie easy.
4) The combination of these added burners enables extremely rapid pre-heating. Our S-470 hits >700F in less than 10 minutes with all 7 burners active!
If you shop on-line carefully, you may find the S-470 at sale prices even closer to the S-420 than the 20% gap in list price. At the time we bought our S470, the street-price gap was less than 10%.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the price …
I was very hesitant to pay more for my outside grill then the oven in my kitchen, but I must say I’m impressed! There’s a reason you don’t see many bad reviews on weber grills, this thing is solid and well designed! It came mostly put together, I just had to put on the side pieces and tray holder in the cabinet. It came with everything I needed to attach it to the natural gas line built into my house, with the exception of thread sealant. Each burner starts with one click, and the grill heats up quickly. The grates are very heavy duty & stainless rods, so no more worrying about having the wrong bristles on my brush. I’ll be using this grill for many years to come.
5.0 out of 5 stars Summit S-420 NG Grill
I like the grill very much. It is well engineered as you would expect a Weber to be and it cooks great. Why did I wait so long to buy it?
4.0 out of 5 stars Best Grill I’ve ever owned
Researched mid-priced grills from a dozen manufacturers and kept coming back to Weber. Had owned a propane Genesis model for 10 years before and, with a couple replacement “flavorizer” bars, it was going strong when we moved (left it for the new homeowner). The Summit S-420 model is even more sturdily built and has a larger grilling surface. The “Snap” ignition system is incredible; a flame igniter for each burner tube (no more “crossover” ignition)lights first time, every time.
Comes almost completely assembled which is great for quick start up and use, but makes for a very heavy delivery package (about 235 pounds). Driver needed my assistance to get it off the truck and into my garage.
Bottom line? Price is quite a bit higher than home improvement store standard stocked grills of equal size, but the quality of this Weber is substantially better. A great grill for the price.

Some Recent Reviews of the Weber Spirit E-210 Natural Gas Grill:
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Little Performer, By Thomas G. Long
This grill is solid as a rock and very efficient. It fired up cleanly the first time, and it achieved a 400 degree oven heat in about 5 minutes. Beautiful, even flame. Be careful putting it together. The instructions are drawings, mostly without words, and not always as clear as they might be. But, the grill can be assembled in about an hour, even with a few retracing of steps.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing like a Weber, By Sal Leonardi (Chicago)
The box is big and heavy but went together in about an hour. It is sturdy and solid, not like those cheaper, multi-burner models. This thing will last. Nice, even heat and can cook more than the description implies. Plus, it comes in natural gas version so no tanks to lug around.
5.0 out of 5 stars Weber Natural Gas Review, By Joyce P. Helm (Texas, USA)
I love it. It was actually easier to assemble than I thought it might be based on other reviews. I was pleasantly surprised to find Weber had included all the tools needed to assemble it because it was not really spelled out–may have been my failure to review all notes. It works just like it is supposed to be, including the lighter–unlike other grills I have had.
5.0 out of 5 stars Weber Natural Gas Grill – the best
This grill is excellent. It works perfectly, has even heat, starts instantly and has a good thermometer to let you know the interior temperature.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worgs for Weber
The Weber natural gas grill is excellent. What more is there to say? Assembly is quite involved, and the instructions is only photos.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Little Steak Cooker
We grill very often, and throughout the year. I began looking for a new gas grill, when my 1.5 year old Chargriller Duo rusted, and unceremoniously fell in on itself.
5.0 out of 5 stars Really great buy
This pit was fun to put together. Better than that, it cooks very well. The heat is wonderful and evenly dispersed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great unit for the price
This unit isnt loaded with all the fancy options of higher dollar units, but my wife won’t stop grilling anything she can throw on this thing.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Grill
I have an old Weber that I am replacing. I love the electronic ignition on the new Weber as opposed to the push button on the old Weber.
5.0 out of 5 stars Weber Natural Gas Grill
After shopping around the big box stores we found the Weber to be far superior in construction. Although a bit pricey, it’s definitely worth the extra outlay.

5.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for By David Rockoff (Orange, Ca USA)
This grill, while pricey, is very likely the best free-standing 3-burner grill I’ve ever used (for its size). I chose the natural gas version because I have a stub-out in my back patio that allows me to grill without the inconvenience of picking up and refilling propane tanks. I’ve actually used quite a few natural gas grills and this is the only one that’s actually managed to heat rapidly and hold a temperature with any real success. The first time I used this grill, it achieved 550 degrees (f) in just under 10 minutes with all 3 burners on high. For those who know, temperatures north of 500 degrees (f) are REQUIRED for searing steaks properly. I also appreciate the side-mounted controls as they help keep the grill’s depth to a minimum (a MUST in my small back patio). I also REALLY like the new stainless steel design for 2009. I was never a fan of the plastic/poly construction of previous years. In conclusion, I highly recommend this grill to anyone who’s looking for a quality piece of grilling hardware that will stand the test of time. Also, be sure to pick up Weber’s custom grill cover to protect your investment if you’re not storing the grill in a shed or covered area. 5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome grill…great deal by By ski-dragon (Houston, TX)
I was going to buy this exact same grill from Home Depot online, until they infomed me that shipping was going to run me $75.00! Amazon shipped it for free! I wanted to post a rant on HD’s website warning everyone that they are paying high shipping costs unnecessarily, but their guidelines don’t allow mention of any competitors.
The grill itself is great! Only took an hour to assemble, would have assembled faster if I hadn’t gone slow in order to get it right the first time. Cooked steaks for the first time on it tonight, and there were no hot spots of any kind. There are still occasional flare-ups, but I don’t think you can get away from that with any grill…and I’ve had several.
All in all, an excellent experience and great product! Thanks Amazon!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Grill By techguy “Joe” (USA)
Excellent grill. Assembly took a little over an hour but all parts are of good quality and the pieces all fit together perfectly – no bending or forcing anything.
Grill heats evenly, no flare ups, and it gets hot fast: 600+ in less than 10 minutes for me.
After setup I thought my gas line wasn’t working fully because I could not see flames from the burners. Turned out the flames are just so hot and blue that you can’t see them easily in sunlight (close the lid and look through match hole to see them).
Weber customer service is excellent – called about not seeing burner flames. Calling their 1-800 number results in speaking to a real person in less than 1 minute who stays with you until your issue is resolved.

Weber Genesis E330 Video Review
Some Recent Reviews of the Weber Genesis E330 Natural Gas Grill:
5.0 out of 5 stars A great grill in NG! By M. L. Stewart
Through a confluence of circumstance I was in a hurry to get this grill in and installed right when this new model came out. Other than the pain suffered through paying full retail (ouch), it has been a great experience.
Assembly:
Everything fit together as it should. Get an 11mm socket on a real wrench though – the ‘tool’ that comes with the set is great for adjusting the doors, but don’t count on using it for primary assembly unless you have a few days to spare. Hint: Use the 3 silver headed screws for the drip tray – the black headed screws are for the side burner.
NG vs Propane:
If you’re going to grill year around in a climate that can get cold and can get the hook up done – go NG. Seriously. I’m loving it.
Pre-heat:
40* ambient to 600* in 9 minutes (NG version). I took it up to 650* (13 min) just to clear any remaining mfg oils on it. This is WAY hotter than any reasonable use would entail. All 4 burners running full out.
Cooking:
Food has come off the grill outstanding. Set the three main knobs to the same position and the entire grill cooks at the same rate. I have not found any cold or hot spots – food has cooked evenly anywhere I put it on the grill. It has all come off with great flavor. Frankly, after cooking on several other grills over the years, this one makes it too easy.
Searing:
The addition of the 4th burner creates a large HOT zone on the left side of the grill. It’s kind of this grills hidden weapon. You can grill ‘normal’ on the entire surface. Then, if you want, you can crank up the left burner, sear burner and center burner and turn the left half of the grill into a searing wonder. When you’re done, turn off the 4th (sear) burner and you’re back to ‘normal’ pretty quick.
Side burner:
Pretty straight forward turn the knob, push the igniter, put stuff on to heat it up. Works just like it should.
Burners run NS instead of EW:
Pre 2011 Genesis models had EW burners. The 2011 model has NS burners. So far, from what I can tell, the difference is moot. I have not done rotisserie on it yet though, and apparently that is where the EW burners shine. I don’t think it will be an issue though. This grill cooks so evenly that I don’t think it’s going to matter a bit.
Community Support:
Check out the forums at:
www (dot) bbqsource-forums (dot) com
They have a great bunch of people in the Weber forums there, and I put up a pile of pictures of this grill right after I assembled it.
Amazon’s Service:
Ordered it with Prime shipping and it arrived 7 days later in a REAL big 200lb box. The delivery guy put it in my garage without any fuss.
Drawback:
This grill makes great results too easy. It really feels like less work than it should be to get such great results.
5.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for. By Jeff True (Lexington, KY United States)
I was very reluctant to spend $800+ for a grill. We just moved into a house which has a natural gas line and I wanted to be able to use that. None of the hardware stores in our area sold NG grills, nor would they put them together. I was expecting a nightmare putting this thing together. That couldn’t have been further from the truth. Just follow the step by step instructions and you’ll be grilling your first steak in a couple of hours.
My only issue didn’t relate to the grill, but the connection from my house. I had to visit a hardware store to get a 3/8″ to 1/2″ adapter for the gas connection. Once all that was taken care of, I fired it up full blast and it got up to 500 degrees in less than 10 minutes. I cooked my first steak on this grill tonight and the outcome was perfect.
If you’re like me and debating the steep price, you get what you pay for in terms of quality of the materials and perfect food perparation. I highly recommend this grill, if you’re looking for durability and quality.
The box is very heavy and requires freight delivery, but Amazon has the best companies handling that. Delivery couldn’t have gone any smoother, and we got the grill in less than 3 days.
5.0 out of 5 stars Beyond My Expectations By John ChiTown (Chicago)
First let me say that anyone who owns their own home (and has natural gas service) should spring for the NG version. Some say that LP burns hotter than NG – I can’t comment about that – but I can tell you that with the 4 burns wide open the unit reached almost 800 degrees in less than 15 minutes, air temp was at most 60.
Plus you’ll save a boatload of money and never run out of fuel again.
Next, I strongly recommend you buy the E 330 not the ES 330. The E comes with porcelain coated cast iron grates whereas the ES grates are SS.
SS may be resistant to rusting but they are inferior in their cooking qualities. SS takes forever to get hot, does not retain heat like cast iron.
SS grates won’t mark the meat like Cast Iron does. Also, food will stick more to SS and are more difficult to clean.
Back to the grill, it simply the best grill you can get for the price. Weber doesn’t sell on price – it sells on solid design, top quality and unparalleled product support. Weber prices are pretty much the same everywhere – so buying it from Amazon there was a no brainer. There was no sales tax and it shipped free with my Prime membership & I received it in 2 business days.
There are lots of grills out there that are cheaper and they are all cheaper but none are better. If you are serious about grilling – Go Weber.

Some Recent Reviews of the Weber Genesis E320 Natural Gas Grill:
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Grill – Extremely Pleased, July 14, 2011 By JD
IDid a ton of research before making this purchase. So many good reviews on this grill – now that I own one of these I can confirm that all of the positive comments are all true. I am extremely pleased with my new Weber Genesis E-320.
This grill is built like a tank and to very tight tolerances. Nice thick steel w/cast iron grates. It is well-engineered and the quality control is excellent. Easy to assemble. One-man job, done in an hour. With the matching cover, I feel like this could last for 20 years.
Love the individual ignition for each burner. Lights instantly at the push of a button. With all three on full blast, goes from 0-700 degrees F in under 10 minutes. Does 0-450 degrees in less than 5 minutes. You can choose perfectly even heat across the grilling surface, or customize if you want a cooler sport. The side burner is a great feature. Makes it really easy to cook steaks and sweet corn, grilled chicken and pasta, etc. Excellent time saver.
Is this the best value? Tough to say if you haven’t tried all the less expensive grills. That being said, if you want a can’t-miss five-star grill, this grill has done EVERYTHING I have expected it to do and has been a totally regret free purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars Natural Gas the Best way to Grill and the E-320 is the Best Grill for the Money, July 24, 2011 By PGregO
We have been using this grill for over two months and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of this grill. I was in disbelief that Amazon delivered the grill to my garage for free. A seller on Ebay was charging two hundred dollars for the same service. The grill arrived amazingly fast and in perfect condition. I did not use a stop watch but, the grill was assembled and ready to go in under two hours. I needed a second pair of hands just once to lift the lid in placed. Once a qualified plumber ran us a new natural gas line, we had the best grill available in this price range turning out perfectly cooked food. There are grills that cost a lot more and I am not sure how they could be any better than the E-320. Everything we have cooked comes off the grill evenly cook. The side burner is a feature worth the extra money. It was over 100 degrees the last two days and cooking in the kitchen adds extra heat to your home. So having an outdoor grill has been very nice for all of our cooking. Why do you think early homes built in America often had kitchens separate from the house. It was to prevent fires and keep the heat away from living quarters. Without boring you with endless details and more useless commentary; I’ll just say this, if you have natural gas at your home spend the money and get a hook up on your deck or patio. It is the best investment you’ll ever make in time savings and hassle. Just think no more running out for another bottle of LP; because, you are not sure how much gas is left in the tank. All you have to do is connect the hose and turn on the gas and start grilling. The E-320 comes with a quick connect fitting and my plumber recommended disconnecting the hose after every use. It takes just two seconds. This grill is a Weber and they make the best grills by far. Definitely a 5 start product and Amazon also gets 5 stars for outstanding service and value.
4.0 out of 5 stars Love it, June 29, 2011 By BP (SAINT MICHAEL, MN
The porcelin coated grates are begining to rust alittle after several months, the temp guage has some moisture invading it, but she is a killer cooker and far better quality than any 150 dollar grill. Its HEAVY but rolls easy on its wheels and has great locking wheels. It has already stood up to some big wind that knocked over all my deck furniture without moving an inch. Both my previous grills were knocked down on my deck which picks up a lot of wind and this one doesnt even have a tank on it for extra weight.

Some Recent Reviews of the Weber Genesis E310 Natural Gas Grill:
5/5 stars Best Grill Yet, March 2, 2011 By Dr. Vicky Leo
In the past 16 years I have owned 4 grills. The first was a Duquesne natural gas grill. It worked well but after 4 years multiple parts rusted and had to be replaced. After 200.00 in parts It lasted another 2-3 years (it cost 700.00 new). I then bought a stainless steel natural gas grill from Home Depot ( a charbroil for about 500-600 dollars) that rusted out after 5 years and had to be replaced. Three years ago I purchased a stainless steel grill from Lowes (a Perfect Flame It cost 550.00). The last one was the worst. The handles were rusted in less than a year and after three years it was literally falling apart. I did a lot of research before buying the Weber Grill. It cost 200.00 more than my last one. The difference in quality was immediately apparent. The steel is heavier and thicker than my previous grills. It gets very hot, very quickly and steaks are perfect on this grill. I expect it will continue to perform better and last longer than any of my previous grills. My brother is on his third Weber grill, but he bought his first one 30 years ago. Where was he when I bought my first grill 16 years ago?
5/5 stars Good Investment, September 23, 2011 By M. Brown “Snake” (San Antonio, Tx.)
I bought this grill after a lot of research. I was interested in something a little less expensive. After actually seeing one in person at the local hardware giant store I decided to bite the bullet and get this model. Here are some pros and cons.
Pros:
Easy to assemble (with proper tools).
Heavy Duty Lid (really heavy) keeps heat in.
Well made all the way around.
Removable sliding drawer with drip pan.
Heats up quickly! Just turn it on and watch the needle rise on the gauge.
3 burner front to back design lets you have a cool side on the grill if desired.
Knobs in front do not take up space on your side tables.
Totally serviceable and easy to replace parts.
Great grill utensil holders.
Cooks food evenly.
Con:
Wheels are not suitable for rolling across grass. It just tore up my yard, and we ended up having to carry it. I wish they had put on big wheels like most other grills.
If you need a lot of square inch grill space, then this may be a little small for a big family.
The shelf that holds the little foil drip pan could have used two attachment points instead of just one on the side of the cabinet. The cost of saving on drilling extra holes and the price of an extra bolt couldn’t be that high.
I had to deburr some casting slag from the edges of the main fire box. A little more post finishing would have fixed this.
5/5 stars Great BBQ! by E. Thomas
We LOVE it and use it constantly!!! It cooks evenly and is easy to use. Our previous bbq use to burn everything…but I’ve yet to have ANYTHING get charred on this one.

This is not a Heathkit. The instructions are minimal and you need to look at the illustrations with a magnifier.

5/5 stars Can’t beat a Weber!! by Nolan
I have been looking to buy a new Weber grill for the last 2 years. Not because I needed one. But I just wanted a more modern Weber to replace the one I had for the last 15 years…

We bought this Weber grill to replace a charbroil grill that rusted out completely on the inside after only three years.

I love this grill! My Char-Broil Red was a big mistake. That lasted less than 3 years! This is AMERICAN MADE and worth every penny, my last Weber lasting 16 years.
